The Russian Federation is the largest country in the world. It occupies about 1/6th of the Earth surface. Our land is washed by 12 seas, most of which are the seas of three oceans^ the Arctic, the Atlantic and the Pacific.
Out country has numerous forests, plains, steps, taiga and tundra, highlands and deserts. The highest mountains are the Altai, the Urals, the Caucasus, the biggest rivers are the Volga, the Ob, the Yenisei, the Lena and the Amur, the deepest lake is the Baikal.
The climatic conditions are rather different, from article and medium to continental and sub continental and subtropical.

There are many different countries on the planet Earth, with different cultures, languages and traditions and all of them have their own features and it is very interesting to compare different countries.
I want to compare 2 countries: Russian Federation and the Ukraine. There are many differences and similarities between the Ukraine and my own country.
First of all I want to emphasize a big quantity of similarities. Russia and the Ukraine are two nearby Slavic countries with identical cradle. The history of Russia bounds up with the Ukraine’s history.
The United States of America is the fourth largest country in the world (after Russia, Canada and China). It occupies the southern part of North America. It is washed by the Atlantic Ocean in the east and by the Pacific Ocean in the west. It also includes Alaska in the north and Hawaii in the Pacific Ocean. The total area of the country is about nine and a half million square kilometers. The USA borders on Canada in the north and on Mexico in the south. It also has a sea-boarder with Russia.
